¿Por qué es importante la chakra? ¿Qué podemos aprender de la chakra? ¿Cuáles son los mayores desafíos en las comunidades indígenas y en la selva y cómo puede ayudar la chakra? ¿Qué enseñanzas espirituales aporta la chakra? ¿Qué conocimientos guarda la chakra? ¿Qué necesita la chakra para florecer y fortalecerse?
Junto con sus comunidades, seis investigadores Napo Runa (de Ecuador) y seis investigadores Urarina (de Perú) buscan respuestas a estas preguntas. Entre 2023 y 2025, utilizan métodos participativos para rescatar conocimientos y crear vídeos sobre la importancia de la chakra y todas sus relaciones espirituales.
Tres grandes eventos de intercambio de conocimientos reunen a comunidades del río Napo, en Ecuador, y comunidades del río Chambira, en Perú. En estos eventos, discutimos las respuestas a las preguntas, y tratamos de encontrar soluciones para mantener vivas y en buena salud las culturas indígenas y sus chakras. Preparamos mensajes para compartir con el resto del mundo, porque creemos que los pueblos de todo el mundo necesitan escuchar las enseñanzas de la chakra y la sabiduría de los pueblos indígenas de la región amazónica.
Los investigadores de base cuentan con el apoyo de tres universidades y están acompañados en sus tareas por investigadores académicos de Ecuador, Perú y Dinamarca.
Siete organizaciones y federaciones indígenas de la Amazonía ecuatoriana y peruana (a lo largo de los ríos Napo y Chambira) respaldan este proyecto.

A community investigation project…
Why is the chakra important? What can we learn from the chakra? What are the biggest problems that indigenous communities are facing, and how can the chakra help? What spiritual teachings does the chakra bring? What knowledge does the chakra hold? What does the chakra need to thrive?
Together with their wider communities, six Napo Runa researchers (from Ecuador) and six Urarina researchers (from Peru) look for answers to these questions. Between 2023 and 2025, they use participatory methods to rescue knowledge and create videos on the importance of the chakra and all its spiritual relations.
Three big knowledge-sharing events bring together communities from the Napo River in Ecuador, and communities from the Chambira River in Peru. At these events, we discuss answers to the questions, and we try to find solutions to keeping indigenous cultures and their chakras alive and in good health. We prepare messages to share with the rest of the world, because we believe that many cultures around the world need to listen to the teachings of the chakra and the indigenous peoples in the Amazon region.
The grassroots researchers are supported by three universities. They are accompanied in their tasks by academic researchers from Ecuador, Peru and Denmark.
Seven indigenous organisations and federations in the Ecuadorian and Peruvian Amazon (along the Napo and Chambira rivers) are backing this project.
